Xerces Pollinator Protection Pledge

The Environmental Awareness Committee of the WFB Garden Club, as one of our initiatives, promotes the Pollinator Protection Pledge, part of the Xerces Society’s “Bring Back the Pollinators” campaign. The Xerces Society is dedicated to invertebrate conservation.

The pledge is based on 4 simple principles:

Grow pollinator-friendly flowers
Provide nest sites and shelter
Avoid pesticides
Spread the word

Through these actions, protecting pollinators can happen anywhere, including in our own yards! And, you can enjoy the beauty of seeing these amazing creatures in action–from the grace of a butterfly fluttering and sipping nectar to a plant literally moving with bee activity. If you build it, they will come!

We encourage everyone to go to https://xerces.org/bring-back-the-pollinators/pollinator-protection-pledge, read more about it, and take the pledge. Then, go to their gift store (https://gifts.xerces.org/) and purchase a Pollinator Habitat sign to support their efforts, spread the word, and proudly show off your garden and your values!
