Environmental Awareness Committee

The Environmental Awareness Committee (EAC) of the Whitefish Bay Garden Club is dedicated to inspiring a deeper connection with nature through education, advocacy, and hands-on involvement. The EAC aims to raise environmental awareness, promote the vital role of native plants in conservation, and encourage sustainable practices that protect and strengthen our local ecosystems. Through outreach and active stewardship, we want to empower our community to help create and sustain a healthy, resilient environment for generations to come.

The Garden Club has always been dedicated to environmental awareness and advocacy; with the formation of the EAC, we aim to be more effective and to provide additional opportunities for community involvement. Officially formed in 2025, the EAC has launched the following initiatives:

We write regular articles for the village newsletter and the local magazine Whitefish Bay Living.
As advocates of native plants and sustainable gardening, we promote adoption of the Xerces Pollinator Protection Pledge.
We host a quarterly book club, selecting and discussing books consistent with our mission.
